How It Works

Recognizes occupancy, including during rest

Continuous sensing helps the system distinguish an occupied room from one that is actually empty.

  1. 01

    Scans the space

mmWave radar can recognize subtle movement within the room.

  2. 02

    Confirms occupancy

It tells the system whether the room remains occupied.

  3. 03

    Supports guest comfort

It helps maintain comfort while a guest is resting or sleeping.

Occupancy sensing without cameras

The mmWave Occupancy Sensor uses radio waves to detect subtle presence, including situations where someone remains still with very little movement. It does not use cameras or capture guest images.

Its role is to automate property operations while respecting guest privacy.

Integration

A more informed signal for smarter decisions.

EcoHost needs stable Wi-Fi for sensor communication, automations, monitoring and remote configuration. If the internet connection is interrupted, occupancy-based automations may be temporarily suspended and remote functions may be unavailable. The thermostat still allows basic A/C control, and connected functions resume when connectivity returns.
