The EcoHost Smart Thermostat is compatible with air-conditioning units that use an infrared remote control. We confirm equipment compatibility before installation.
Can the mmWave Occupancy Sensor detect someone while they are sleeping?
Yes. The mmWave Occupancy Sensor is designed to detect subtle presence, including situations where someone is resting or sleeping with very little movement.
What happens if a guest leaves a door or window open?
The system can be configured to turn off the A/C when a door or window remains open for a set period. Once it is closed, the system allows the A/C to operate again.
Does the guest lose control of the air conditioning?
No. Guests can continue using the A/C normally within the parameters set by the owner, preventing settings that cause unnecessary energy use.
Does EcoHost need an internet connection?
Yes. EcoHost uses a stable Wi-Fi connection for its sensors, automations, and remote monitoring and configuration features. If the internet connection is interrupted, the thermostat still allows control of the A/C; sensor-based automations and remote features may be temporarily unavailable and resume when the connection returns.
